It has been very humbling to see how Brisbane’s inner-western community has rallied together in these trying times.

From teddy bears poking through almost every window, to messages of support written on so many of our footpaths, we are incredibly proud to call Toowong home.

We may not be quite out of the woods yet but with restrictions carefully being eased, we have been daydreaming about some post isolation activities! As soon as it is safe to do so, here are 7 things we have planned for Toowong.

Toowong Tennis Courts, Sylvan Road, Toowong

Game on at the Toowong Tennis Courts

After weeks at home, it’s time to reunite with friends and get out of the house. When restrictions on sporting venues eventually lift, why not grab the kids and meet up with some friends for a game of tennis on Sylvan Road?

There are 3 courts available from $14 per hour and it’s a nice change of pace from the daily neighbourhood walk.

Brunch at the Corner Store Cafe, Toowong

Brunch at Corner Store Café

After working up an appetite, it’s time for a fresh juice and a bite to eat at the Corner Store Café; which is also conveniently located just across the road from the Tennis Courts.

The Corner Store Café offers the perfect mix of outdoor seating, a buzzing atmosphere, excellent coffee and a menu that will satisfy even the hungriest of tennis stars.

Don’t forget to check out their delicious salads, sandwiches and cakes on display inside! More Information

Trivia Night, West Toowong Bowls Club

The Bistro serves up a fantastic selection of meals which are delicious and generous (so bring your appetite!). Make sure to book in advance, this popular monthly event is one you won’t want to miss! More Information

Mt Coot-tha BBQs

Sunset BBQ at Mt Coot-tha

We’ve all been missing catching up with our friends and family, especially over the great Aussie barbeque! When restrictions ease and it is safe for gatherings again, Mt Coot-tha is the perfect spot for a sunset barbeque.

Brisbane City Council is upgrading the Brush Box, Grey Gum, Range View and Gold Mine picnic areas with new barbeques, shelters and turf. Pack the esky and enjoy those stunning clear skies and mesmerising pink sunsets which Brisbane is famous for this time of year.

Private Dining Room at Barolos, Toowong

Wine & Dine at Barolos

Time to throw on some heels, a gorgeous outfit and enjoy a night of elegance at Barolos Ristorante Italiano. Think truffled goats cheese bruschetta, braised lamb shoulder fettuccine and a glass of Montepulciano.

Barolos is one of Brisbane’s best Italian restaurants with incredible service to match its equally impressive wine list. An absolute must for a night of refinement in Toowong. More Information

Food and drinks served at the Blue Room Cinema, Rosalie

Sunset Cinema & Blue Room Rosalie

Although the Sunset Cinema at the Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens couldn’t go ahead as planned, it doesn’t mean we can’t get our fix of boutique cinema screenings this year.

The Blue Room Cinema at Rosalie has some special content lined up for when “intermission” is over. Enjoy luxurious seating in one of their intimate rooms with full table service and drinks delivered throughout the showing. More Information
